Suggestions
1. Core Group of a least 6 people who plan future Ultreyas. Each person should agree to do this for 2 to 3 years and should make every effort to attend most Ultreyas during that period. Having a large Core Group solves the problem of times when you can not attend Ultreya. What does the Core Group do?
· During Grouping at Ultreya they spread around so collectively they know who among the attendees is really involved in trying to be a disciple of Christ especially in regard to Evangelization of their Environments so they can be asked to Witness at a future Ultreya.
· Meet to plan future Ultreyas. This can be a very short session about ½ hour before Ultreya starts to plan the next one. You could plan two Ultreyas at one of these meetings but you want the Witness to be current so it might be better to just plan one. At the meeting establish a list of people who you think would give a good witness (at least 3 folks in case someone can not attend the next Ultreya) and agree of which core group members will take the action to call them. At the meeting establish which Group Reunion will host the next Ultreya, what person will lead the music, and who the Spiritual Director will be. Agree on which Core Group members will contact them.
2. From time to time update the Friendship Group List (on our web site) of folks who are Grouping in the area of the Ultreya. Circulate the list at Ultreya so we have documented who is Grouping and also the time and location. Try to help cursillistas who are not grouping and new cursillistas to get into a Group.
3. Help the Secretariat and
· Identify a member or members of the core group to assist Pre Cursillo, the 3-Day, Post Cursillo, Palanca, and the SOL. Identify by name and provide to the appropriate person on the Secretariat and SOL.
· Try to attend the SOL if you can. If you unable to attend ensure that at least one or two people from your Core Group attends.
· Provide suggestions for potential future team members (they need to be grouping and attending Ultreya on a regular basis).
· Help with special functions like planning a Christmas party or a Workshop.
· Establish a telephone tree and perhaps identify a person in the Ultreya to do e-mail Ultreya Reminders.
· Attempt to make the Ultreya more kid friendly to encourage families with children to attend. Perhaps identify a teenager who can monitor small children in the teen room (they could watch video tape)during Ultreya.
· Keep new blood coming into the Core Group. Maintain a good balance of age groups including young people and have a mix of experienced cursillistas and those that are relatively new to the Movement.
· Establish a Core Group Chairperson who’s main job is to schedule/run the core group meetings. This person should be the spokesperson for the Core Group but ensure that decisions are made by consensus.
