Vision Of The Metuhen Cursillo Movement
Building an Army of Disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ through the Cursillo Movement and the Methods of Piety Study and Action
PreCursillo
Purpose
1. To target environments
2. To select candidates
3. To prepare candidates (info from SOL)
Objectives
1. To select candidates
A. To identify the influential people within each selected environment
B. To insure that all candidates satisfy the basic requirements to participate in the 3-day Cursillo weekend
2. To prepare candidates
A. To support each candidate following the process described in the National Cursillo Movement's Sponsors' Booklet
B. To provide personal contact to each candidate from both the Sponsors and the Cursillo leaders
3. To target environments (Primary responsibility at SOL)
A. To study diocesan-wide environments in accordance with the current Leaders' Manual, page 179:

· the advertising field
· the academic community
· the media/communications field
· the medical profession, and
· the political field
B. To select those environments that have a dynamic influence on society
Recommendations
1. Beginning in August 2009, and at least three times a year thereafter, the Diocesan Cursillo Newsletter should contain information that focuses on the various aspects of PreCursillo contained within Cursillo literature and workshops. This will be submitted by the PreCursillo Coordinator.
2. Beginning in November 2009 and every November thereafter, the PreCursillo Coordinator will submit updated material to the Secretariat for inclusion in the revised Pastoral Plan.
3. By September 2009, the PreCursillo Coordinator will define the role and responsibilities of a sponsor.
4. By November 2008, the PreCursillo Coordinator will develop and conduct the first sponsors' workshop to provide a more detailed account of sponsoring than already available in the Sponsors' Booklet.
5. By November 2008, the PreCursillo Coordinator will define and communicate criteria for candidate selection.
6. By April 2009, the PreCursillo Coordinator will develop a plan about how to have Weekends with more than 20 candidates.
7. By April 2009, the PreCursillo Coordinator will study and integrate the Movement into the Bishop's pastoral plan, within the parameters of the Cursillo Movement.

The Three-Day Cursillo Weekend
Purpose
1. To educate and train candidates in order to be evangelizers
2. To bring about the renewal of mind and spirit (Fundamental Ideas, paragraphs 108 and 109)
3. To help people discover and fulfill their personal vocations
4. To provide a transition from the Pre-Cursillo to the Post-Cursillo
Objectives
1. To provide an atmosphere that is conducive to the "metanoia" experience necessary to develop Christian evangelizers, utilizing the 3-Day Manual and other pertinent literature
2. To provide each individual with the tools and the method to fulfill their baptismal responsibilities as well as an opportunity to fulfill their role as laity as set forth by Vatican II and their personalrelationship with Christ
3. To further enhance the candidates' understanding and application of Post-Cursillo tools of Group Reunion and Ultreya which will assist them in the Christian transformation of their environments
Recommendations
1. Beginning in August 2008, and at least 3 times per year thereafter, the Newsletter will contain information that focuses on the various aspects of the 3-Day Weekend contained within current and future Cursillo literature and workshops. This will be submitted by the 3-Day Coordinator.
2. The Secretariat will immediately encourage the use of new cursillistas in team member roles
3. Beginning in November 2008 and every November thereafter, the 3-Day Coordinator will submit updated material to the Secretariat for inclusion in the revised Pastoral Plan.
4. By 1 January 2010, the 3-Day Coordinator will determine Team Member qualification criteria and selection standards.
5. By 1 January 2009, the 3-Day Coordinator will develop a plan for Team make-up (characteristics).
6. By November 2008, the 3-Day Coordinator will submit to the Secretariat a full outline that determines weekend structure.
7. By November 2009, the 3-Day Coordinator will develop a plan for Team Formation.
Post Cursillo
Purpose
1. To facilitate the penetration and transformation of environments through and for Christ
2. To nurture the cursillistas in persevering the living out of their Fourth Day.
Objectives
1. To bring about the Christian transformation of each Cursillista's environments using the method of the Tripod (Holiness, Formation and Evangelization.
2. To provide each cursillista with a means of ongoing support and perserverence.
Recommendations
1. (A) By April 2009, the PostCursillo Coordinator will develop a plan on how to encourage and emphasize grouping for all. (B) By April 2002, the PostCursillo Coordinator will develop a plan on how to keep people active and involved within the movement using the Cursillo method.
2. By November 2008, and every September thereafter, promote unity and Christian fellowship in our Cursillo community by reconciliation, discernment, sharing, forgiving, and understanding, through a Cursillo mass (led by the Bishop if possible).
3. By November 2008, the PostCursillo Coordinator will review and restructure Ultreya format to adhere to National guidelines (including format for witnesses, witness preparation, review by the spiritual director, and length of groupings).
4. Beginning in November 2008 and every November thereafter, the PostCursillo Facilitator will submit updated material to the Secretariat for inclusion in the revised Pastoral Plan.
5. Beginning in August 2008, and at least three times per year, the Diocesan Cursillo Newsletter should contain information that emphasizes the importance of authentic Group Reunions. The article should also contain information that focuses on various aspects of PostCursillo contained within Cursillo literature.
Purpose
1. To maintain the effectiveness of the Cursillo Movement (Fundamental Ideas, #527)
2. To provide ongoing education, training and spiritual growth for the leaders of the Cursillo Movement.
3. To identify the living of what is fundamental to being a Christian - in each one of its members, in the Movement as a whole, and in the environments where the members live and work and have leadership influence (Fundamental Ideas #563)
Objectives
1. To provide a gathering of Christians who have set out in holiness and who are finding their way by following and imitating their one and only Teacher: Christ (Fundamental Ideas #534)
2. To provide a community of Christians who, united in the atmosphere of a Group Reunion, seek every day to become more centered, more committed, and more united (Fundamental Ideas #540)
3. To provide a response to "the call to growth and a continual process of maturation, of always bearing much fruit" (Christifideles Laici #57)
Recommendations
1. By April 2009, develop a plan on how to get potential leaders involved in Cursillo leadership roles.
2. By April 2009, develop a plan about palanca issues.
3. By September 2008, develop the local SOL format.
4. By November 2008, develop a general education plan for the SOL & publish 6 months in advance.
5. By April 2008, develop a plan to increase the frequency of the SOL.
6. By April 2008, develop a plan to increase the religious' involvement in Cursillo (all 3 phases).
7. By August 2008, develop a plan to ensure full/proper communications within the diocesan movement.
8. By November 2006, develop a plan to reach out to outlying parishes in the diocese to support fellow cursillistas.
